Marketing Coordinator
This leading South African publisher and distributor requires the services of a detail-oriented Marketing Coordinator. The successful candidate will be based in Denver, Johannesburg.
Main purpose of the role:
If you have a passion for books, excellent administrative skills, and a proactive approach to relationship management, this role is for you. Please note that a valid driver’s license and your own car are essential, as the role involves travel to bookstores, events, and activations as needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the marketing team with day-to-day administrative tasks and reporting
- Act as the liaison between the publisher and bookstores
- Assist with coordinating events and promotions and ensuring timely communication
- Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and in-store platform
- Coordinate the creation and delivery of marketing materials and point-of-sale collateral
- Help manage author event logistics, book launches, and trade fair participation
- Track budgets and invoices
Skills and competencies:
- Relevant qualification with emphasis on marketing.
- Minimum 1-2 years of marketing experience
- A passion for books
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and teamworking skills
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and excellent organization
- Time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Interest in pursuing new marketing opportunities and new ways of reaching readers, staying
- abreast of wider book trends
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Experience in Canva, In Design and Photoshop
- Own car and a valid drivers license essential to travel to bookstores and events when required
