Media24’s Advertising and Content Marketing division is looking for an experienced senior account manager to join its team. The ideal candidate should have publishing experience in both print media as well as digital media, with a focus on magazines. The candidate must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
What the job entails:
- Service a predetermined client base with relevant offerings and solutions
- Identify, generate new business opportunities on an ongoing basis to achieve predetermined sales targets
- Prepare and present sales proposals and presentations to new and existing clients to negotiate and close deals, aimed at relevant client objectives
- Create tailored solutions that meet the client’s short- and long-term needs
- Build strategic working relationships with clients and maintain a high level of client contact (telephonic, email communication and face to face) to ensure that their specific requirements are addressed, to monitor and grow existing business
- Provide professional and exceptional client service in all interactions with clients
- Closely monitor competitors and maintain client database
- Keep all administrative work updated including booking procedures
- Report on sales opportunities and achievements as required (weekly and monthly)
- Maintain a high level of relevant industry knowledge
- Attend in-person and online meetings and travel where needed.
What we require:
- Experience selling magazine advertising space (preferred)
- Experience selling digital properties (preferred)
- Experience selling events and special projects properties (preferred)
- Willingness to travel (when needed)
- Social media and digital media experience
- Driver’s license with own reliable transport
- Strong proposal writing skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills
- To be meticulous and thorough
- Understanding of Office365
- A good knowledge of Lifestyle products, brands and trends.
- To be proactive, decisive and results-orientated
- Agility – to be comfortable with uncertainty and able to be productive in a high-paced environment
What you should have:
- A recognised qualification in sales, journalism, copywriting, media or a similar relevant field
- At least 3 years in ad sales
- Experience in a similar position in a retail, publishing, brand or agency environment
- A sound working knowledge of digital and social media channels, including bought media on social
- An adaptable nature with a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to be a team player
- The ability to work under pressure and proactively deal with high-stress situations
